What Is Square Breathing?
My friends, I am stoked to share this blog with you today and I hope you find this tactic as helpful as I do! Please feel free to send me any feedback via email!
Okay so what in the heck is square breathing? Square breathing is a simple tool to help us chill the eff out and calm our nervous system! Slow stable breathing also calms the heart, stabilizes blood pressure and allows you to think clearly! This technique is used by not only adults, but children and Navy SEALS!
(Please be mindful and always stay safe! If you begin to get lightheaded lower your counts or stop the practice)
Alright here we go:
Begin by slowly exhaling and emptying any air in your body
Then, gently inhale slowly through your nose the goal is to inhale for a count of four, but if you need to do to two or three that is okay
Next, Hold at the top of your breath for a count of four
After that, exhale through your mouth for a count of four
At the bottom of the breath now, hold for another count of four
Repeat
Again, please let me know if you began to incorporate this technique into your daily life and how it has changed things during times of stress for you! Namaste.
